Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often should I send my cat for groomer session?

"A cat should be on a regular grooming and or nail trims schedule every 4, 6 or 8 weeks. If you don't have time to maintain your cat at home, we can get your kitty on a regular maintenance schedule."

Q: Can all cats be professionally groomed?

Most can have some sort of grooming. We can customize your cat's grooming appointments to maintain coats and to minimize stress.

Q: What are the risks to my cat?

Grooming may be stressful for any cat but is especially stressful for older, sick, or under-socialized cats. Kitties with an underlying health condition such as a heart murmur, or other underlying health condition may be exacerbated by grooming. Often we don't know what's going on as cats are so good at hiding symptoms. Please discuss any concerns with your groomer at kitty's first appointment."

Q: What shot records are required for grooming?

All cats must have their current Rabies vaccination, either 1 year or 3 year shots.  Please bring a copy of their Rabies certificate to their first groom.  All cats need to be in a safe crate or carrier. It's not fun to chase a kitty around the parking lot.

Q: Why are the grooming rates for cats higher than dogs?

As a cat owner, you know that cats do not "obey" humans like dogs.  Handling cats requires a different skill set than handling dogs. Bacteria in a cats mouth or on their claws makes infection more likely if a groomer is bitten or scratched. Making a trip to urgent care a possibility.

Q: How much time does it take?

Cat grooming time will depend on your cat's temperament, condition of coat and grooming needs. Full cat grooms vary from 45-90 minutes.
